Open forums with K-State police chief position finalists

The search committee for the Kansas State University Director of Public Safety and Chief of Police has scheduled open forum dates with candidates who will be interviewing for the position. Open forums will take place from 10-10:50 a.m. in the Flint Hills Room in the K-State Student Union on the following dates:

  • Tuesday, July 28
  • Tuesday, Aug. 4
  • Wednesday, Aug. 5

Candidates have been asked to present “Building the Next Generation of Public Safety at Kansas State University.” Candidates will also be asked to present a strategic vision for the department over the next 5 years, including strategic, operational and leadership priorities with a focus on modernization, community partnerships and policing, event safety and security, and leveraging technology, all within the current staffing framework.

The open forums will be streamed live and archived, along with candidate application materials, a complete itinerary and a candidate feedback form. Only individuals with a K-State eID and password will have access to this information. Candidate materials will only be available two days prior to their on-campus interview.
