Kansas Board of Regents to meet June 17 and 18 in Topeka

K-State consent agenda items
- The Regents will approve K-State's request to offer two new programs: a Bachelor of Science in robotics and autonomous systems and a Master of Science in marketing science.
- The Regents will act on nominations for the Kansas Board of Regents Faculty and Staff of the Year Awards. Faculty of the Year nominees from K-State are: Jurgen A. Richt, Regents and university distinguished professor in diagnostic medicine/pathobiology; Andrew Sneed, assistant professor in architectural engineering and construction science; and Brandon Savage, advanced instructor in management. K-State’s Staff of the Year nominee is David Brown, director of payroll.
- K-State requests approval to amend the fiscal year 2027 capital improvement plan and to accept program statements to: renovate bathrooms in Haymaker Hall and improve student recreation fields at Chester E. Peters Recreation Complex.
- K-State requests approval to finalize the sale of the Housing and Dining Services Honors House located at 1930 College Heights Road, Manhattan.
- K-State requests approval to accept a gifted tract of land from the KSU Foundation for 119.61 acres of farmland in Republic County used by the Department of Agronomy for research and extension purposes.
- The Regents will approve K-State's request to appoint David Renter, professor and associate dean of research programs and graduate students in the College of Veterinary Medicine, to the Midwest Stem Cell Therapy Center Advisory Board.
K-State discussion agenda items
- The Regents will act on the fiscal year 2027 tuition and fees proposals.
- The Regents will act on state universities' capital improvement requests and five-year plans for fiscal year 2028.
- The Regents will discuss guidelines for submission regarding state university policies pursuant to 2026 House Bill 2560: a bill authorizing state universities to adopt policies under which the university may independently perform functions such as procuring goods and services, granting easements, providing official hospitality and disposing of surplus property.
- The Regents will receive reports state university Artificial Intelligence reports.
