Kansas Board of Regents to meet May 20 in Topeka

K-State consent agenda items
- The Regents will approve the university's academic calendars for the academic years 2029-2031.
- The Regents will act on the distribution of need-based aid for public universities for the fiscal year 2027.
- The Regents will act on the allocation of fiscal year 2027 Kansas Campus Restoration Act appropriations.
- The Regents will approve the fiscal year 2027 budgets for the Johnson County Education Research Triangle.
- K-State will request approval to amend the fiscal year 2026 capital improvement plan and to accept program statements to: renovate and expand the indoor track facility; construct a multi-species livestock stall barn and make associated site improvements to the Bilbrey Family Event Center; and modernize and repurpose Burt Hall to serve as the home to the growing nuclear engineering program.
- K-State will request approval to accept a gifted tract of land from the KSU Foundation for a property incorporated into the site of the Doug Laue Beef Cattle Research Center.

- The Regents will receive a student enrollment report.
- President Linton will present K-State's fiscal year 2027 tuition and fees proposal. K-State will request tuition rate adjustments to support critical investments in people, infrastructure and student success while maintaining a strong commitment to affordability and market competitiveness.
- The Regents will have first read of the state universities' capital improvement requests and five-year plans for fiscal year 2028.
- The Regents will have first read of the guidelines for submission regarding state university policies pursuant to 2026 House Bill 2560: a bill authorizing state universities to adopt policies under which the university may independently perform functions such as procuring goods and services, granting easements, providing official hospitality and disposing of surplus property.
- The Regents will elect the fiscal year 2027 Board chair and vice chair.
