Provost announces internal search for College of Arts and Sciences interim dean
The Office of the Provost and Executive Vice President announces an expedited internal search for the interim dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. The search is limited to current and qualified employees of Kansas State University.
The interim dean will serve as the chief academic and administrative officer of the college and is responsible for fiscal oversight and direction of teaching, research and outreach, including relations with the external professional community. The interim dean must be able to articulate a vision and lead the development, implementation, growth and expansion of disciplinary and interdisciplinary opportunities across undergraduate and graduate programs. The interim dean should also demonstrate a commitment to strengthening the college’s long-term vitality through strategic enrollment growth, thoughtful stewardship of resources, shared governance and the advancement of a financially sustainable future for the college.

The search committee invites letters of nomination or applications to be submitted as soon as possible. The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. May 27, with campus interviews anticipated in the second and/or third week of June.
Anticipated start date is July 1. The term of service as interim dean may be between 6 and 12 months. Application for the position of or appointment as interim dean will not preclude an individual from applying for the permanent dean of the college. A national search for permanent leadership will be conducted later, with more details to come.
