New performance management system launches May 1
This spring, K-State will launch its first electronic performance management system, a significant milestone in the university's ongoing effort to build and sustain a next-generation workforce.
Beginning May 1, supervisors will complete mid-year reviews for university support staff, or USS, and unclassified professional staff through a new online platform. Platform launch and training will occur simultaneously, with supervisors logging in to their accounts during live, guided sessions and completing their first steps in the system with real-time support from HR. Supervisors will receive more information via email in the coming weeks.
The transition builds on the unified performance evaluation process K-State launched in January 2025, the first time in the university's history that a consistent evaluation form and process has been used across all USS and unclassified staff. The new system will automate and advance that process, making it easier for supervisors to provide feedback, track goals and create a documented record of employee development over time.
Effective performance management is more than a human resources function. When done well, it aligns individual contributions to the university's mission, builds stronger relationships between supervisors and staff and is one of the most direct investments K-State can make in becoming an employer of choice.
