The countdown is on: Avoid late fees by paying your parking citations

As the semester wraps up, now is the time to pay any outstanding parking citations to avoid additional fees and penalties. There are four easy ways to pay for K-State parking citations.

The quickest option is to scan the QR code on your citation. This will take you directly to the payment site, allowing you to view your citation details and complete your payment without logging in or creating an account.

Citations can also be paid online through the K-State Parking Portal or in person at the Parking Services office, located in the K-State Parking Garage at 706 N. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. Parking Services operates from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Students, faculty and staff can have one citation forgiven per academic year by donating 10 or more new, nonperishable food or hygiene items to Cats' Cupboard through the Donations 4 Citations program. To qualify for citation forgiveness, individuals must donate 10 or more new items from the designated list.

Please note that not all citations qualify for the Donations 4 Citations program. Eligible citations include violation warnings, expired meter violations, unpaid parking tickets, unregistered vehicles, improper parking and overtime parking. However, citations for parking in a no-parking zone and any citation exceeding $20 are not eligible.

Citations that remain unpaid after 14 days will incur a $10 late fee. Vehicles may be wheel-locked after five citations or $200 in unpaid fines. Continued nonpayment may lead to collection agency reporting and vehicle tracing through the Department of Motor Vehicles.
