Two sections of Mid-Campus Drive will be closed starting on March 16

Two sections of Mid-Campus Drive will be closed starting on March 16 due to construction.

The first section, from Claflin Road to Jardine Drive, will be closed from Monday, March 16, through Tuesday, June 30. The partial closure will affect the area near the construction site of the Western Star Global Grain and Food Center. Both lanes of Mid-Campus Drive, from the Claflin Road intersection to approximately 750 feet north of it, will be closed to traffic during the construction period.

Pedestrians are advised to use the sidewalk on the west side of Mid-Campus Drive near Dole and Umberger halls. Parking lots B4, B10, B11, B12 and B13 will remain open during the construction. Drivers should follow the marked detour routes on Claflin Road, Denison Avenue and Jardine Drive to navigate around the construction.

The second section of Mid-Campus Drive, from the roundabout east of the Morris Family Multicultural Student Center to the Vattier Street intersection, will be closed from Monday, March 16, to Sunday, June 21.

This closure is necessary for the Fairchild Hall chilled water and fire service project. The restricted parking area behind Anderson Hall will also be closed during this construction. Construction zones will be located between Kedzie and Fairchild halls and west of Anderson Hall. Pedestrians are advised to use the marked sidewalks during this time.

Please follow the marked detours and exercise caution in the construction areas, as large trucks and equipment will be operating. Be aware that timelines may be extended due to weather conditions.
