The Natural Resources and Environmental Science, or NRES, secondary major is accepting applications for their fall 2026 NRES Graduate Fellowship program. The program provides early-career researchers who possess strong teaching and research potential with valuable experience mentoring interdisciplinary undergraduate research.
Doctoral students or post-doctoral researchers in any discipline conducting research in the general domains of natural resource management, environmental sciences, human-environment interactions or sustainability science are eligible to apply. Applications are due April 10.
Preferred applicants have either already completed their Ph.D. or have completed preliminary exams, been admitted to candidacy and are making excellent progress toward doctoral degree completion. Recipients will be selected by members of the NRES Governing Board.
Fellows will receive an award of $1,500 and must serve as research mentors to senior undergraduates enrolled in the NRES capstone class, BAE/DAS/GENAG 582, during the semester in which the fellowship is awarded. Recipients are also eligible to apply for an additional $500 NRES Travel Award during the academic year in which the fellowship is awarded.
