K-State launches Dimensions: A powerful new research intelligence tool

Kansas State University is advancing its Forging Opportunities for Research, Growth and Entrepreneurship, or FORGE, program grant with the rollout of Wildcat Scholar — a new academic, research and engagement management system designed to showcase and connect K-State's scholarly achievements. Developed in partnership with Digital Science, Wildcat Scholar integrates data from internal and external sources to create dynamic faculty profiles and strengthen collaboration across the university.

As part of this initiative, K-State has launched Dimensions, now available to all faculty, staff and students at https://dimensions.k-state.edu. Users can log in with their K-State email via single sign-on for easy access.

Dimensions is the world's most extensive collection of linked research data, connecting publications, grants, patents, clinical trials, datasets and policy documents into a single searchable platform. It enables users to explore research trends, identify funding opportunities and visualize the global research landscape, accelerating discovery and collaboration at K-State.

Dimensions provides our faculty and staff with a single platform to access publications, grants, patents, clinical trials, and more,” said Hans Coetzee, vice president for research. “Rather than spending hours searching multiple sources, users can quickly discover trends, identify collaborators, and analyze research landscapes in seconds. This tool streamlines workflows and supports informed decisions that strengthen proposals and projects.”

This launch marks an essential step in K-State's Next-Gen vision and its commitment to meeting the needs of Kansas. Funding from the Kansas Department of Commerce and the One K-State fund enables investment in resources that empower faculty and students to engage in high-impact scholarship and innovation.

Throughout the spring semester, the implementation task force will work with stakeholders to continue building out the Wildcat Scholar system.
