K-State's new partnership with TimelyCare to provide free, 24/7 virtual health care to students

Kansas State University, Lafene Health Center, and Lafene Counseling and Psychological Services, or CAPS, have announced a new partnership with TimelyCare, a virtual health and wellness platform designed to help students prioritize their well-being.

TimelyCare, now accessible to all enrolled K-State students, offers no-cost, 24/7 virtual health care. By offering immediate, confidential support to students during times of stress, transition or emotional overwhelm, this partnership directly reflects and expands the university's commitment to student health and well-being by supporting healthy learning environments.

The platform, recognized as a Top 5 Need-to-Know Organization for Mental Health Awareness by the Princeton Review, is accessible at timelycare.com/kstate or via the app available in the App Store or Google Play. After registering with their K-State email address, students can start a visit on any web-enabled device, anywhere in the United States.

TimelyCare offers a wide range of resources, including:

  • TalkNow: 24/7, on-demand mental health and emotional support from licensed counselors via text, video or voice chat.
  • CrisisNow: 24/7 crisis support line staffed by TimelyCare crisis coordinators and master's-level mental health professionals — available by calling 785-626-8878.
  • Appointment-based mental health counseling
  • Health coaching
  • Basic needs assistance
  • Care navigation services
  • Peer support communities
  • Digital self-care resources

“We are pleased to offer this hybrid model of care in collaboration with our existing on-campus resources,” said Thomas Lane, vice president for academic success and student affairs. “TimelyCare makes direct, anytime access to high-quality care more readily available to students when they need it, granting peace of mind to students and their families. It is a valuable addition to the services we offer at K-State.”

TimelyCare also offers a 24/7 guidance line for faculty and staff who are supporting a struggling student. Faculty and staff are encouraged to call when a student shows signs of distress and they are unsure where to seek help. The faculty and staff guidance line is available at 833-4-TIMELY, or 833-484-6359.
