Parking meters on the Manhattan campus transition to cashless payments
Kansas State University's Manhattan campus has upgraded its parking meters to accept cashless payments, allowing users to pay with credit and debit cards. This modernization eliminates the need for coins and offers digital payment options, including tap-to-pay functionality.
All campus meter locations now feature new smart, solar-powered meters. Using cellular connections to process payments, the meters enhance the customer experience by offering flexible, automated transactions and providing real-time usage data to help manage parking effectively.
Drivers can purchase up to 10 hours of parking at a time. On-screen confirmation codes are displayed on the meter’s digital screen after purchase, and parking receipts will be available online.
A multi-space pay station will also be installed soon, located north of the Chester E. Peters Recreation Complex. The pay station will operate similarly to those in the parking garage, allowing drivers to enter their license plate number and pay for parking.
When parking in a metered space, payment must be made at the meter, regardless of whether you have a K-State parking permit. For more information about meter parking, visit the Parking Services website.
