Performance management deadlines now due; new electronic system selected for next phase
With the end of the year and holiday season quickly approaching, employees and supervisors are reminded of key performance management deadlines.
What employees need to do now
Complete and share your employee self-reflection form with your supervisor as soon as possible. The reflection, which was due on Nov. 30, is a great way to summarize your achievements, development activities and how you model Kansas State University's values. The document is located on the performance management forms page.
What supervisors need to do now
Supervisors should begin drafting end-of-year assessments in preparation for annual performance reviews with their employees. Incorporate insights from your employees' self-reflections to create a balanced review. The assessments and reviews should be completed before Jan. 31.
HR liaisons will provide guidance on steps and the process to support you. Training sessions are also available if you need additional support.
The performance management process applies to all employees, except faculty, graduate students, temporary employees and student employees.
New electronic system chosen
To build upon the new performance management process, the university is now preparing to implement the next phase of the initiative: an electronic performance management system.
Following a competitive RFP process — and with valuable feedback from campus stakeholders — the university has selected ADP's performance management solution to support this next phase.
The new system will create a more seamless experience for both employees and supervisors by:
- Offering a more intuitive, user-friendly workflow that reduces administrative burden.
- Strengthening year-round goal setting and feedback tools to make conversations more meaningful.
- Improving documentation and reporting, helping supervisors stay organized and supporting consistent and fair evaluations.
- Better aligning between staff performance, development and career growth, supporting employees in their professional journeys.
Over the coming months, Human Resources will share more information about the implementation timeline, system rollout and training opportunities. Staff and supervisors will receive access to tools and resources to help them feel prepared and confident as we move into the new system.
This modernization marks a significant step in establishing a consistent, people-centered performance culture at K-State. HR will partner across the university throughout the transition, supporting the next evolution of performance management and working together to build and sustain the next-generation land-grant workforce at K-State.
