“Save a Life” stations installed on campus

Kansas State University and Lafene Health Center were awarded the Kansas Fights Addiction grant in February 2025 from the Sunflower Foundation. With the funds received, three “Save a Life” safety stations have been installed on campus. They are located at Lafene Health Center, Hale Library and the Chester E. Peters Recreation Complex.

Each station is equipped with:

  • Naloxone, a life-saving medication that reverses the effects of an opioid overdose.
  • Fentanyl testing strips.
  • Educational pamphlets that instruct how to help someone who may be a victim of an opioid overdose.
  • Hygiene kits.
  • WRAP kits, items related to sexual health, safety and consent.
  • Contact card for Lafene Health Center and Lafene CAPS.
  • Contact card for Central Kansas Mental Health Services, 24/7 mental health services.

Two training courses have been scheduled. The first training, regarding fentanyl use and the risks associated with opioids, will be held from 4-5:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 13, at the K-State Student Union, Muir Room 224.

The second course will also be held in the Muir Room and will be a training on the use of naloxone. It will be held from 4-5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22. Both courses will be presented by Jenni Ebert, community health educator for the Riley County Health Department.

Register on OrgCentral to attend Fentanyl Awareness and Education and/or Naloxone Training.
