October Water Wednesday to highlight engagement opportunities

Interdisciplinary groups of students, staff, and faculty work together at a professional luncheon.

The Kansas Water Institute will lead an interactive conversation about expanding Kansas State University's research and engagement on the topic of water at this month's Water Wednesday lunch from noon to 1 p.m. Oct. 22 in the K-State Student Union, Cottonwood Room.

As part of this year's Extension and Engagement Week, the luncheon will focus on creating meaningful connections between extension professionals and K-State faculty, with activities centered around collaborative teaching, grant opportunities and other professional engagements.

“This month’s Water Wednesday is a unique opportunity for faculty and extension professionals to meet face to face, and often for the first time,” said Susan Metzger, director of the Kansas Water Institute. “It offers everyone a chance to discover shared goals and to begin planning future projects that address water resource challenges in Kansas.”

Interested individuals must RSVP online by Oct.15, as space is limited. All K-State faculty, staff and extension professionals are welcome, regardless of their participation in the K-State Research and Extension annual conference. A complimentary lunch will be provided.

The Kansas Water Institute hosts Water Wednesday events each month, aiming to facilitate meaningful exchanges and showcase impactful research. The full Water Wednesday schedule is available on the Kansas Water Institute website. To request additional information, contact water@k-state.edu.
