A portion of Claflin Road will be closed on Oct. 25

A digital map of Kansas State University shows Claflin Road and a section in red that has been marked as closed.

The red section of Claflin Road will be closed on Oct. 25.

On Saturday, Oct. 25, a section of Claflin Road will be closed for most of the day. The closure will start at the Denison Avenue and Claflin Road intersection, extending eastward to the pathway in front of Gen. Richard B. Myers Hall. The sidewalk on the south side of Claflin Road, behind Ackert Hall and Chalmers Hall, will also be closed. The north sidewalk in front of the Throckmorton Plant Sciences Center will remain open.

This closure is necessary for the delivery, placement and removal of a large crane that will be used to remove the last elevator that needs to be replaced in Ackert Hall.

Please follow the designated detours and proceed with caution, as large trucks and equipment will be moving through the area. Pedestrians should also follow detours and exercise caution when crossing Claflin Road.
