Highlighting K-State's international travel protocols

Exploring and working abroad offers unique benefits for Kansas State University students and employees. To help protect travelers and university resources, the requirements in PPM Chapter 3120: International Travel and Activities apply to all official university travel.

University-sponsored trips are not allowed to countries under a U.S. Department of State Level 4 "Do Not Travel" advisory. Travelers who believe their trip is essential may request an exception by submitting the International Travel Registration form to Provost and Executive Vice President Jesse Mendez.

Employees and students may not bring university-owned laptops, tablets or phones to sanctioned or high-risk countries, even for personal travel. K-State loaner laptops are available through the Division of Information Technology at 785-532-4918 or itcheckout@k-state.edu.

All travelers participating in university-sponsored international travel or using university-owned devices abroad must complete an export control review before departure. This review ensures compliance with laws governing the transfer of research, data and technology across borders.

These requirements safeguard K-State travelers, protect sensitive university information and uphold federal regulations while continuing to support opportunities for international learning, work and collaboration.
