Help shape Kansas' financial future at Nov. 4 workshop
Flourishing communities and economic prosperity depend on sound financial decision-making by individuals and families. Across Kansas, many people face challenges balancing today's demands with tomorrow's aspirations. Improved financial literacy supports more informed decisions, empowering communities throughout the state to thrive.
The interdisciplinary Institute for Financial Education and Prosperity was established to address these needs. Building on the momentum of Kansas' new high school financial literacy graduation requirement, the institute aims to fulfill the mission of the next-generation land-grant university. Through partnerships with nonprofits, government agencies, industry and educational institutions, the institute will equip educators, youth and consumers to take control of their financial futures.
The institute's first step is to bring the K-State community together to identify strengths, initiatives and opportunities. Faculty and staff are invited to an in-person workshop from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, in Hale Library, Room 181. Participants will help develop a coordinated strategy to leverage expertise and resources across colleges and units to better support financial prosperity for Kansans.
