Tree removal at the English/Counseling Services building on Aug.12

Kansas State University arborists, in collaboration with experts from the Kansas Forest Service, have determined that a Red Oak tree between the English/Counseling Services building and Hale Library is in poor health and needs to be removed for the safety of students, faculty and staff who use the nearby walkways.

The tree removal will take place on Tuesday, Aug.12. The walkways to the east of the English/Counseling Services building entryway will be closed, along with a portion of the main walkway to the west of Hale Library. Please adhere to the designated closed walkways during this process and exercise caution, as trucks and equipment will be moving through the area.

Trees symbolize a long-term investment in our campus, and K-State is committed to their health and sustainability. A new replacement tree was planted earlier this summer to help restore and maintain our campus tree population.
