New parking management platform streamlines event parking
K-State has streamlined its event parking by partnering with HONK, a parking management platform for event planning on the Manhattan campus.
The new platform will enhance the visitor experience and simplify the event parking process, aligning with K-State's commitment to creating a more welcoming and accessible environment for visitors, alumni and the community. Campus visitors do not need to download an app to use the new system.
"This partnership lets us deliver a better experience for campus guests while also using university resources more efficiently," said Adrienne Tucker, director of parking and transportation. "Our teams can now spend less time coordinating logistics and more time focused on supporting the events themselves."
HONK's platform offers contactless payment options, digital parking management and efficient enforcement, minimizing manual processes and improving the overall parking experience for both visitors and event organizers. Previously, managing event parking involved multiple steps, approvals and extensive communication between departments. With the new system, departments can significantly reduce their workload by creating parking events with just a few clicks.
Parking Services is working with various departments and units to provide individual training sessions on how to use the new software. Event parking rates and billing processes will remain unchanged. If you have already scheduled event parking through the old ParkMobile system, no action is required. View the Parking Services website to learn more about event parking.
