Improve your data skills at linear mixed models workshops

Are you interested in building or honing your data analysis skills?

Kansas State University's Institute for Digital Agriculture and Advanced Analytics and department of statistics are co-hosting a workshop series about the fundamentals of linear mixed models for designed experiments from Sept. 13-14.

Linear mixed models are widely used for analyzing data from designed experiments, but applying them correctly requires an understanding of how the data was generated and how mixed models work. This series is designed to help participants develop that understanding — building intuition for key model assumptions and practical applications.

The two-day workshop series is available at no cost to all K-State faculty, staff and students. Non-K-State participants can attend for $300. All attendees should register online.

All workshops will take place in 164 Justin Hall, and light refreshments will be provided both days.

  • Saturday, Sept. 13: Workshops from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. with a 90-minute independent lunch break.
  • Sunday, Sept. 14: Workshops from 9 a.m.-noon.

Since model applications will be demonstrated using R software, prior experience with the software is convenient but not required. Attendees are encouraged to bring their laptops.

If you’re interested in taking advantage of this in-depth professional development opportunity, please register ahead online.
