College of Agriculture announces new assistant director of global engagement and student services

The Kansas State University College of Agriculture has named Kathy Huser as the new assistant director of global engagement and student services, a position designed to meet the evolving needs of the college's diverse student body and academic programs.
Huser officially began her new role in May 2025, following her impactful tenure as the student services coordinator in the animal sciences and industry department, where she provided high-impact support to students, faculty and staff. With the college transitioning from faculty advising to a primary-role advising model at the college level, Huser's position will address broader student support needs at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
In her new role, Huser will lead efforts to enhance international engagement and streamline student services across the College of Agriculture. She will support undergraduate and graduate international students as they transition to K-State, coordinate faculty-led study tours, assist with student exchange programs, and collaborate with the Education Abroad office to align coursework with degree plans. Huser will also support international short course initiatives and serve as a liaison between the college and the Office of International Programs to advance global engagement.
Huser brings a unique blend of personal experience and professional insight to her new role. A native of the Czech Republic, she completed her undergrad and was a student-athlete at K-State. Since returning to the university, she has worked in the English Language Program and in student support services for the College of Agriculture. Her cross-cultural background and student services experience uniquely position her to build a welcoming, supportive and inclusive environment for all students. Huser will transition out of her current departmental responsibilities over time, as college-level advising and student services are fully implemented.
"The creation of this role and Kathy's appointment reflect our commitment to building a globally engaged and student-centered college," said Mishelle Hay McCammant, director of academic student services. "Kathy's passion for student success and her international perspective make her an ideal leader to help us expand opportunities and support for all students."
