Kansas Board of Regents will meet June 11-12 in Topeka

The Kansas Board of Regents meets Wednesday, June 11, and Thursday, June 12, at the Curtis State Office Building in Topeka. A livestream is available.

K-State items on the consent agenda include:

  • The Regents will act on K-State’s request to offer a Bachelor of Science in nuclear engineering.
  • The Regents will act on nominations for the KBOR Faculty and Staff of the Year Awards. Nominees from K-State are Gabe Kerr, professor of math; Logan Britton, assistant professor of agricultural economics; Chad Bailey, instructor of electrical and computer engineering; and Richard Becker, director of infrastructure security architecture in the Division of Information Technology.
  • The Regents will act on K-State’s request to amend the fiscal year 2025 capital improvement plan and to approve the program statement for renovations to Leasure Hall.
  • The Regents will act on K-State’s request to approve the program statement for construction of a storage building for the Biosecurity Research Institute at Pat Roberts Hall.
  • The Regents will act on proposed amendments to the memorandum of understanding between K-State and the Kansas State University Employees Association, Local 6400, which represents approximately 500 eligible maintenance and service employees.
  • The Regents will act on appointments to the Retirement Plan Committee. The Council of Business Officers nominated Ethan Erickson, vice president for administration and finance, for reappointment to the committee for a three-year term.

K-State items on the discussion agenda:

  • The Regents will act on program review recommendations.
  • The Regents will act on a request to change qualified admissions at K-State for freshman applicants under the age of 21. The university requests approval to admit such students having a minimum 3.0 high school GPA regardless of test score or with no test score, or a minimum of 21 ACT score and a minimum 2.5 high school GPA. A 2.0 GPA is required on any transferable college coursework taken while in high school.
  • The Regents will act on university tuition and fee proposals for fiscal year 2026.
  • The Regents will receive proposals for the fiscal year 2027 unified appropriation request.
  • President Richard Linton will request the Regents approval to name a program at K-State.
