Terry Mason, Edgerley family chair in business at Kansas State University, will advance the College of Business Administration's academic programs as the new associate dean for graduate and undergraduate programs, effective June 8.

Mason is a professor of accounting as well as the Koch Industries director of the Master of Accountancy program in K-State's Herbel Family School of Accountancy.

"Terry brings a tremendous combination of academic leadership, research excellence and dedication to student success," said Kevin Gwinner, Edgerley family dean in the College of Business Administration. "He is well-positioned to build on the strong foundation laid by Chwen Sheu, whose leadership has significantly advanced our academic programs. I'm confident Terry's vision and experience will continue to elevate the impact of our graduate and undergraduate offerings."

Throughout his tenure at K-State, Mason has received numerous accolades, including the Koch Industries Leadership and Service Award in 2022, the K·Coe Isom Outstanding Researcher Award in 2017, 2019 and 2021, the CBA Outstanding Contributions in Research Award in 2018, the SPS Graduate Faculty Award in 2024 and the FORVIS Teaching Award in 2024.

"I'm honored to serve as the next associate dean for academic programs for the College of Business Administration," Mason said. "I look forward to working alongside our outstanding faculty, staff and students to build upon our college's strong foundation of academic excellence. Together, we will continue to enhance our programs, support innovation in teaching and learning, and ensure our graduates are prepared to lead in a rapidly changing global business environment."

Mason earned his bachelor's degree in accounting from Harding University and both his Master of Accountancy and doctorate in accounting from Florida State University. A certified public accountant, he is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Accounting Association, the Institute of Management Accountants, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Kansas Society of Certified Public Accountants.

The college extends thanks to the members of the search committee for their time and consideration throughout the selection process. Committee members included committee chair Ansley Chua, Suzy Auten, Jim Bloodgood, Bente Janda, Kevin Moodie, Phil Payne and Ben Ward.
