New look for Office 365 sign-on starting May 30

Tuesday, May 29, 2025

A screenshot shows a new sign-on box for K-State's Office 365. The sign on box now starts with just a prompt asking users for their email, instead of also a password.

New Sign In screen will be used to access Microsoft services.

Note: Entire email address (eid@ksu.edu) will be required to sign in.

Starting May 30, the Single Sign-On (SSO) box design for accessing Microsoft Office 365 services, such as Teams, OneDrive, Outlook and Webmail, will change. Although the overall sign-in process will remain the same, you use your eID@k-state.edu and password, followed by Duo authentication; you will notice a new look for the sign-on box.

This change is part of K-State's ongoing efforts to improve services for students, faculty and staff by creating a more consistent user experience and reducing complexity. This is a multi-phase project, with the first phase focusing on the Microsoft Office 365 tools.

Please be cautious and remain aware of any unexpected changes in your K-State sign-on process. Cybercriminals may attempt to use sophisticated tactics to impersonate our K-State system, so it’s important to stay vigilant. During the transition period, there will be two versions of the K-State Single Sign-On process, but we plan to have all systems updated to the new sign-on experience later this fall.

If you use a password manager to store your eID@k-state.edu and password, you will need to update that information in the manager once the new sign-on box is implemented.

If you have questions or concerns about your sign-on experience or encounter inconsistencies, please contact the IT Service Desk at 785-532-7722.
