Economics department honors outstanding students

Outstanding seniors at the annual honors banquet with their signed copies of "The Wealth of Nations."

The economics department recently recognized outstanding faculty, graduate students and undergraduate students at its annual honors banquet on April 25 at the Bluemont Hotel.

The following students were awarded undergraduate scholarships:

Josie Barrow, Chris Bedros, Maddie Bellmar, Connor Breit, Rex Dale, Grayson Fugett, Liam Hazen, Zoei Heyd, Cooper Hillman, Delainey Isaacson, Zach Jaworski, Korin Koenig, Max Kice, Sydney Lamb, Jack Lecki, Avery Linton, Yaya Liu, Gabrielle Mosier, Bryce Myers, Lindsay Newland, Ian O'Rourke, Matthew Oliphant, Connor Powelke, Colin Robinson, Cole Roberts, Nicholas Shapiro, Sophie Simmons, Ben Smith, Nick Thompson, Makenna Villwok, Aiden Werner and Judy Wiebe.

The department will award more than $55,000 in scholarships to its undergraduate students in the fall semester. The following outstanding graduating seniors were also recognized with a signed copy of "The Wealth of Nations":

Jacob Hofman, Alyssa Leonard, Christian Lutz, Quinn O'Donnell, Michelle Olberding, Sofia Ramirez, Josh Russell, Andrew Schwinn and Marcus Washington.
