Applied language symposium explores teaching and learning scholarship

The department of modern languages is hosting its inaugural Graduate Applied Language Teaching Symposium on Friday, April 25, at Hale Library. There is no cost to attend, and the symposium is open to the public. Registration is requested.
The symposium is a professional development opportunity featuring:
- Engaging presentations from graduate students and teaching professionals from various language backgrounds from 8:30-11:20 a.m. and 1-2:40 p.m. in 307 Hale.
- An informational session, "Libraries and teachers: Partners in learning," by Sara Kearns from K-State Libraries from 11:40 a.m.-noon in 307 Hale.
- A keynote speech, "Applied learning beyond the language course: Student engagement with Latine and Mayan communities for health equity," by Rachel Showstack from Wichita State University from 3-4 p.m. in181 Hale.
