I am so happy to hear of your interest in the K-State Clarinet Studio! I welcome you to our community. I know you will find our students to be accomplished and supportive musicians. Our faculty members work closely with students to provide a well-rounded musical and scholastic learning experience. In addition, the K-State Clarinet Choir, Cottonwood Tree-O, and Sunflower Clarinet Quartet participate in a variety of local performances!

I would like to personally invite you to K-State Clarinet Day on January 31, from 12-5pm. This free event is a wonderful opportunity to visit campus, meet current students, and audition for K-State!

Audition Material:

  • 1 Lyrical excerpt
  • 1 technical excerpt
  • Major scales (C, F, G, Bb, D, A, Eb, Ab, E, and chromatic)

If you’re not familiar with all those scales, don’t worry. This audition is simply an opportunity for me to hear your current level of musicianship and your ability to take direction.

I would be delighted to meet with you soon for a free lesson, either in person or via Zoom. Please let me know if you have any questions regarding auditions, our studio, or K-State!
