Chandima Wekumbura

Chandima is a postdoctoral researcher in Dr. Hettiarachchi’s group, specializing in soil and environmental chemistry with a strong background in crop science. Chandima completed her Ph.D. in Agronomy in May 2024 from the Department of Agronomy at Kansas State University. She obtained her BS in Agricultural Sciences from Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka and MS and MPhil in Crop Science from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. Currently, she is working in the MICRA project to study the impact of soil wetting bacteria and biochar on soil nutrient availability, mobility, and transformations under water-limited conditions. Chandima likes to travel, read, and spend time with her family.
