HIRE EDUCATION: NEARLY 200 EMPLOYERS ON BOARD FOR ALL-UNIVERSITY CAREER FAIR

MANHATTAN -- Kansas State University students are drawing the attention of prospective employers.

Representatives from nearly 200 companies, industries, agencies and more are registered for K-State's All-University Career Fair, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, and Wednesday, Sept. 21, at Bramlage Coliseum.

The fair is for K-State students, but it is also open to members of the Manhattan community.

Cerner, Koch Industries and State Street are among the employers who will attend the fair. K-State students can find a full list of participating employers at http://www.k-state.edu/ces by selecting "My CES Account." After logging in, click the "Career Fairs and Events" tab, and then select "Career Fair" to get an up-to-date list of registered employers.

With increasing job competition, it's important that career fair attendees dress professionally and bring multiple copies of their resume, according to Angela Hayes, the All-University Career Fair chair for K-State career and employment services.

Some employers may offer qualified students next-day interviews, which will be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 21 and 22 in the K-State Student Union Ballroom.

A shuttle bus will run between the union and Bramlage Coliseum every 20 minutes. The shuttle begins service at 10:45 a.m. and continues until 4 p.m. both days of the fair.

Career and employment services will have a program prior to the fair for students who may not have the funds to purchase professional attire. The Career Closet will be available in Holtz Hall Sept. 14 from noon to 4 p.m., Sept. 15 from noon to 3 p.m. and Sept. 16 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
