University master plan topic of fall Kansas State University Emeritus Group luncheon

Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013

MANHATTAN -- The new Kansas State University campus master plan will be discussed at the Emeritus Group fall luncheon at noon Tuesday, Oct. 29, at the Holiday Inn at the Campus.

Ruth A. Dyer, senior vice provost for academic affairs and a professor of electrical and computer engineering at the university, will present "An Overview of the K-State Master Plan" to the university's retired faculty and unclassified administration.

Besides chairing the master plan task force, Dyer is the senior adviser to the university provost on academic issues, and she works closely with the Kansas Board of Regents on academic initiatives, policies and procedures. The new campus master plan will guide the university's placement of new construction and expansion, among other decisions affecting its growth.

The plated luncheon menu will include a choice of pecan crusted chicken with Gorgonzola cream sauce or a vegetarian option of tortellini with smoked cheese sauce, said Linda Richter, retired professor of political science and an organizer of the event.

Registration and payment of $18 for each guest are due on or before Thursday, Oct. 24, by contacting Dennis Law, dean emeritus, at 1515 Williamsburg Drive, Manhattan, KS 66502; delaw@k-state.edu; or 785-539-0422.
