K-State president seeks changes to controversial regents policy

I was reading an article today on Yahoo News referring to a blog on memolition a couple of years ago research from geographers who from Kansas State University who in 2009 were seeking to determine where in America the “7 Deadly Sins” were more prevailing. According to the article those sins are wrath, envy, gluttony, sloth, lust, pride, and greed.

Expanded Kansas diagnostic lab opens

Nonetheless, when Brownback was elected and asked Rodman to come out of retirement and temporarily leave his home in Texas to serve as head of the Agriculture Department he agreed to do so. He said he would serve two or three years. It’s been three years and he’s ready to go home.

Researchers at Kansas State University and the U.S. Department of Agriculture-Agricultural Research Service, or USDA-ARS, found and cloned a gene in wheat named PHS that prevents the plant from preharvest sprouting. Preharvest sprouting happens when significant rain causes the wheat grain to germinate before harvest and results in significant crop losses.

The $1,000 awards can be used for cancer research projects. The award program encourages early participation in lab research as well as the consideration of a career in cancer research while students are still deciding what they want to pursue.
