MEDIA ADVISORY: ARRANGEMENTS FOR JAN. 29 LANDON LECTURE WITH MICHAEL OREN

LECTURER: The Landon Lecture by Michael Oren, the Israeli ambassador to the U.S., will be at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, at Forum Hall in the K-State Student Union.

NEWS MEDIA SEATING: Reserved seats for media will be in the center section of Forum Hall near the audio distribution box. News media photographers will not be allowed to roam during the lecture. If you plan to attend the lecture you must email vpcm@k-state.edu or call 785-532-2535 by Friday, Jan. 25, to reserve a seat.

NEWS MEDIA PARKING: Free parking is available to news media by using a K-State media parking pass, which allows parking in any nonreserved or nonhandicap student or faculty/staff space in K-State's parking lots. Please note that parking without a pass in a reserved or handicap space can result in a parking fine or the wheel-locking or towing of your vehicle. If you do not have a media parking pass, please contact news/editorial services at vpcm@k-state.edu or 785-532-2535 immediately to arrange for one. Other parking options include the K-State parking garage, south of the K-State Student Union, where parking is $1.50 an hour on a space-available basis. A one-day visitor parking pass also can be purchased for $4 at the drive-up teller window on the west side of the parking garage. The pass allows for the same outdoor parking as with a media parking pass. Please allow ample time for parking.

CREDENTIALS: Although credentials are not required for the lecture, please bring your media identification with you in case it becomes necessary.

SECURITY: Media should be prepared to have camera bags, computer bags and the like searched when entering the hall.

LECTURE TEXT: Prepared text of the lecture will NOT be available beforehand.

SATELLITE FEED: There will be NO satellite feed of video and sound bites from the lecture.

MEDIA AVAILABILITY/PHOTO OPPORTUNITY: The ambassador will be available to answer questions from the media between 11:15 and 11:25 a.m. Media will remain in the audience seating area, and the ambassador will return to the stage for questions. An audio distribution box will be available near the stage, but electronic media should come prepared with directional microphones for the Q&A session, if needed.
