The Sensory Analysis Center at Kansas State University is leading a 10-nation study to learn about consumer food safety practices and beliefs.

University team in inaugural National Collegiate Wind Competition
A team from Kansas State University's College of Engineering is among the 10 teams selected nationally to compete in the inaugural National Collegiate Wind Competition. The team's goal is to build a small wind turbine that can charge an electronic device such as a cellphone or an iPad.

Commodity course teaches students to manage economic risk

The course Commodity Futures, offered during August intersession, deals with the futures markets that farmers, ranchers and others can use to manage risks associated with price changes in grain and livestock commodities. It's taught by Sean Fox, professor of agricultural economics.


Itzhak Perlman performs April 21 at McCain

Renewable fuels focus of 2013 L.T. Fan Lecture
Renewable fuels and their associated challenges will be the topic of the spring 2013 Kansas State University L.T. Fan Lectureship in Chemical Engineering. This year's lecturer, Harvey W. Blanch, the Merck professor of biochemical engineering in the department of chemical and biomolecular engineering at the University of California, Berkeley, will present "Renewable fuels: A challenge for technology or for policy?" at 2:30 p.m. Monday, April 22, in Fiedler Hall Auditorium. The lecture is free and the public is invited.
 


Engineering student earns Culbertson Steel Ring Scholarship

Andrew Waldman, senior in industrial engineering, is the recipient of the 2013 W. Leroy Culbertson Steel Ring Leadership Scholarship, which is awarded annually to an engineering student at the university who is graduating the following year and who carries out Culbertson's legacy of leadership and learning. Culbertson was a noted engineering graduate of Kansas State University.


K-State Olathe offers summer workshop in epidemiology to Kansas teachers
