Scholarship and service: Junior honorary Chimes chooses new members

MANHATTAN -- Kansas State's junior honorary society, Chimes, has chosen its new members for the 2012-2013 school year. The group promotes scholarship, leadership and service, and students must have at least a 3.0 grade point average to be eligible.

Events Chimes members participate in include Spooktacular at the Sunset Zoo, Casino Night at the Boys and Girls Club, bell ringing for the Salvation Army, and the university's blood drive. The group's biggest activity is selecting the family of the year for the university's annual Family Day.

Chimes members for the 2012-2013 school year, all juniors, include:

Taylor Phillippi, pre-occupational therapy, Andover; Jenna Sauber, journalism and mass communications, Assaria; Macy Warburton, political science, Cedar Vale; Cindy Stueder, accounting, Claflin; Whitney Bohnenblust, elementary education, Clay Center; Ashley Leckliter, family studies and human services, El Dorado.
