Monday, October 21, 2019

MANHATTAN — The Kansas State University Police Department arrested Jason Seifert, 23, of Fort Riley, on charges of rape, aggravated battery, and aggravated kidnapping early Sunday morning.

On Oct. 20, at approximately 2:55 a.m., K-State Police received a report of an active situation on the west side of campus along the Denison corridor. Upon arrival to the area, officers made contact with and transported the victim to the local hospital.

While officers were still in the area, Seifert returned to the scene and was arrested by K-State Police officers. Neither Seifert or the victim have any relation to the university.

Seifert is currently detained at Riley County Jail with bond set at $100,000. The investigation is ongoing and due to the nature of this incident, no further information is available.
