Kansas State University Global Campus awards more than 75 scholarships

MANHATTAN — Kansas State University Global Campus awarded more than $60,000 in scholarships to 76 students across the U.S. for the spring 2019 semester. The scholarships ranged from $600 to $1,500 each.

Students enrolled in online programs through K-State Global Campus are predominately adults attending classes part time while balancing work and family responsibilities. Many remain ineligible for the majority of scholarships, which often are reserved for full-time students. K-State Global Campus offers scholarships to both part-time and full-time students, providing more individuals the opportunity to earn a degree at their own pace.

The following K-State Global Campus students are spring 2019 scholarship recipients:

Kimberly Maute, junior in elementary education, Baxter Springs, K-State Global Campus New Student Scholarship for Distance Education Students; Deidre Reed, senior in technology management, Chanute, College of Technology and Aviation Scholarship for Distance Education Students; Kourtney Talkington, junior in nutrition and health, Ellis, Department of Food, Nutrition, Dietetics and Health Scholarship for Distance Education Students.

From Greater Kansas City: Nelson Williamson, master's student in teaching, Gardner, K-State Global Campus Scholarship for Distance Education Students; Joanna Marin, senior in general business, College of Business Administration Scholarship for Distance Education Students, and Hannah Morales, senior in social science, College of Arts and Sciences Scholarship for Distance Education Students, both from Kansas City; Jessica Thompson, master's student in youth development, Prairie Village, K-State Global Campus Scholarship for Distance Education Students.
