Free FAFSA and financial aid workshop Oct. 20 at Kansas State Polytechnic

SALINA — Kansas State University Polytechnic Campus is offering a free financial aid workshop and complimentary lunch open to all high school seniors and family members Saturday, Oct. 20.

During the free workshop, students and guests will learn the specifics of the financial aid process, types of aid available, scholarship awarding process and receive assistance filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA. All high school seniors and families are welcome, regardless of the college or university a student plans to attend.

If planning to complete the FAFSA during the workshop, make sure to bring Social Security numbers, records of income, information about assets, driver's license number, date of birth, registration number if the student is not a U.S. citizen, and an FSA ID and password for both the student and parents. An FSA ID can be created online at the Federal Student Aid website.

Registration for this event is required by Friday, Oct. 12. Registration and more information, including a schedule for the workshop and what to bring, can be found online at polytechnic.k-state.edu/fafsa or by calling 785-826-2640.
