Kansas State University News and Communications Services staff members work daily with the campus community to publicize all aspects of the university through media outlets and the university's Web site, RSS feeds, Twitter, Facebook and e-mail lists.

We consult with campus offices, schools and departments to promote professors, student achievements, programs, research and events to external audiences and the news media. Our contacts include both traditional and new media. Priorities for news coverage are based on K-State 2025, the university's strategic plan. We monitor K-State news coverage in print and electronic media.

We write media advisories and news releases, pitch stories to reporters, identify media opportunities, arrange media interviews, plan and manage news conferences, assemble media kits and monitor K-State's print and electronic news coverage. We also keep track of achievements by K-State faculty, students and staff.

We provide an online media guide to assist reporters and editors in finding expert sources. Faculty who wish to be included in the Media Guide may send a note to media@k-state.edu.

We publish K-State Today, an electronic faculty-staff newsletter, and Seek, an online and hard copy research magazine.

Media training is available to individuals and small groups upon request. The services we provide are free of charge to the campus community.
