Building History
Opened in 1968 to replace the outdated Memorial Stadium, this facility was initially named to recognize its significance in improving the university's athletic infrastructure. The construction cost of $1.6 million was covered by student fees, athletic ticket sales and donations. In 1991, the field was renamed Wagner Field in honor of J. David Wagner from Dodge City, who donated funds for the new turf.
