Building History

The Campus Creek Complex was originally established in 1994 as the Galichia Institute for the Department of Gerontology and Family Studies. Today, it serves as a center for education, research, outreach and community services focused on aging and family well-being.

The complex is home to the Center on Aging, which develops educational and training programs on aging, promotes aging-related research, coordinates outreach activities and provides information on aging resources across Kansas. The center's faculty specializes in addressing aging-related challenges in rural communities and small towns. Students from a wide range of academic disciplines can pursue studies in gerontology and aging through courses offered by departments throughout K-State.
