Meet Our Staff

Hello, I’m Corinne Petrik, an attorney and the newest member of K-State Student Legal Services. I’m also a K-State alum, a Kansas native, and a firm believer that everyone should have access to accurate legal information without having to rely on Google.

I grew up in south central Kansas, first in a rural agricultural community and later in Derby. I earned my undergraduate degree from Kansas State University (Go Cats!) and my law degree from the University of Kansas School of Law.

Before returning to K-State in July 2026, I spent my career helping people navigate some of life’s more complicated situations. I worked in Wichita before joining Kansas Legal Services, where I worked in the Hays and Salina offices and eventually became the Managing Attorney of the Manhattan office. Additionally, I was on the Complex Litigation Team that handled Appellate cases.  My areas of experience include criminal law, family law, disability law, consumer debt defense, eviction defense, and more.

I’m licensed to practice law in Kansas and Missouri, as well as the U.S. District Court of Kansas. Throughout my career, I’ve been especially passionate about helping people who are in vulnerable situations and making the legal system a little less intimidating. You don’t need to be nervous about asking for help; that’s what I’m here for.

At K-State Student Legal Services, I’m excited to provide legal education and services to the K-State Manhattan campus community. My goal is to help students understand their rights, know their options, and feel more confident navigating legal situations, whether that means answering a question, explaining a confusing document, or helping you figure out what to do next.

When I’m not practicing law, you can usually find me painting portraits of animals, reading, or meditating by way of doomscrolling. You may see me walking campus with my french bulldog, Sera.
