Making an Appointment

Don’t wait until the day before court to ask for help! The sooner you reach out, the more time the attorney has to work with you towards a solution.

  • Are you currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student on the Manhattan campus of Kansas State University? If yes, continue. If no, you will need to consult a private attorney.
  • Does your issue involve another student at Kansas State University? If no, continue. If yes, Student Legal Services cannot assist you; however, there may be other on-campus resources.
  • Does your issue involve Kansas State University or a department of KSU (including Parking Services)? If no, continue. If yes, Student Legal Services cannot assist you; however, there may be other on-campus resources.

If you are eligible for services, please call Student Support & Accountability at 785-532-6432 to schedule a meeting with the attorney. You can also stop by Student Support & Accountability, 201 Holton Hall, to schedule an appointment. Zoom appointments are available, too. Walk In appointments are not accepted. Same day appointments can be scheduled as the attorney's schedule allows.

Do not send Student Legal Services any confidential information regarding your situation until you have been directed to do so by the office of Student Legal Services. Scheduling an appointment to meet with the attorney is not a promise or agreement for ongoing legal services or representation.

∗Late and No Show Policy

If you are 15 minutes late, please call the office to reschedule. Appointments are given 30 minute time slots and are tightly scheduled.

If you do not call or show to your appointment, SLS may reach out to you once before closing the file in our office.

Free, confidential, and conveniently located on campus or by Zoom

Preparing For Your Appointment

You will be sent an intake form by email. You must complete and submit the form 24 hours before your scheduled appointment time (or immediately for same day appointments). Once the form is received, the Zoom link will be provided to you for any appointments scheduled to be remote.

Student Legal Services is located on the 2nd floor of Holton Hall in Room 201. Disability Access is available on the east side of the building.

This is a judgment free office. Be honest with the attorney. The advice of the attorney is only as good as the information received.

What to Bring

Bring all documents, emails, texts, pictures or notes related to your legal issue.

Don’t bring parents, friends, or others to be present during your appointment. Services are confidential, but that confidentiality is between you and the attorney and does not extend to other people present.

The SLS attorney does not meet with parents, respond to emails from parents, or return phone calls to parents. It is the student who has the privilege of using SLS.
