Additional Job Titles Requiring a Position Description in PageUp

The following job titles are not included in the K-State staff compensation structure but are required to have a position description submitted in the applicant tracking system (PageUp). These job titles are in the 001 pay grade.

Fellow (Post-Doc) - 032600   

This job title is for positions that are substantially research and/or scholarship based but may include formal instructional responsibilities if less than 50% effort. The role includes mentored training for the purpose of acquiring the professional skills needed to pursue a specific career path. Typical pay for this position is $47,476-$60,000 per year and requires a Ph.D. or equivalent in a field related to the assigned responsibilities.

Fellow (Post Doc Res) - 029100

This job title is for positions focused on conducting research but may include formal instructional responsibilities if less than 50% effort. The role includes mentored training for the purpose of further increasing research expertise in a specialized area in order to pursue a specific career path. Typical pay for this position is $47,476-$60,000 per year and requires a Ph.D. or equivalent in a field related to the assigned responsibilities.

Fire Protection Specialist  - 048700

This position will respond to state, regional or national fire emergencies or disasters that require immediate support. Must meet minimum physical fitness standards, security, and qualification requirements as established. Required to complete agency-specific health and medical screening requirements for certain positions prior to being hired.

Intern - 033500          

This job title is reserved for Veterinary Medical Interns in the College of Veterinary medicine. These individuals will have a benefits-eligible benefit program and are eligible for health insurance benefits but no other benefits as described in K.A.R. 108-1-1.

Intern, Student Hourly - 0S3300      

This job title is to be used by departments hiring student interns, frequently during the summer months and when the student is not enrolled in K-State coursework. This is similar to a non-university student where the position is unclassified, temporary, works less than 1,000 hours per 12-month period and is generally for a short period of time. This job title should also be used for J-1 student interns appointed for less than 1,000 hours. The student must be appointed hourly and at no less than the minimum pay for hourly student employees. The incumbent will not qualify for any benefits. For more information, please refer to the PPM, Chapter 4720.

Intern, Student (exempt) - 0S2300                                                                                                  

This job title is for student interns when the position has been determined to be exempt from FLSA. This is extremely rare and exemption is determined only by review by Compensation and Organizational Effectiveness in the Division of Human Resources.

Medical Resident Year 1 - 0C0100

This job title is utilized by the College of Veterinary Medicine for 1st year medical residents. Requires a DVM or equivalent degree.

Medical Resident Year 2 - 0C0200    

This job title is utilized by the College of Veterinary Medicine for 2nd year medical residents. Requires a DVM or equivalent degree.

Medical Resident Year 3 - 0C0300    

This job title is utilized by the College of Veterinary Medicine for 3rd year medical residents. Requires a DVM or equivalent degree.

Non-University Student - 035100                                                                                                    

This job title should be used for students enrolled at another school. Typical pay for this position is $7.50-$12.00 per hour. Minimum pay must be at least minimum wage. Must be at least 16 years of age. During the academic year, must be enrolled in a high school or post-secondary education program other than Kansas State University. During the summer months, must have been enrolled the previous semester. For more information, please refer to the PPM, Chapter 4720.

Scholar - 034500                                                                                                                                

This job title is used by departments hiring scholars. Scholars have attained a level of expertise in their field and these positions are used to support or advance research. Requires a bachelor’s degree or higher, as determined by the department.
