Faculty and Staff Well-being
Cultivating a culture of well-being
K-State is defining its future as a next-generation land-grant institution and establishing itself as a positive force in Kansas and the world. It starts by investing in the dedicated faculty and staff who make our goals possible. K-State champions a culture of satisfaction, engagement, opportunity, improvement and innovation.
Together with our next-gen strategic plan, we have the foundation needed to build a culture of well-being that lasts.
We're on a mission to become an employer of choice in Kansas and higher education. Faculty and Staff Well-being provides initiatives, programs and opportunities for employees to prioritize their physical, emotional, social and financial health. Well-being is about empowering ourselves and our community to create a K-State that's always people-centered. Whether you're ready to recharge, refocus, reconnect or just hit pause — let's realize our full potential together!
Strengthen Your Connections with 'Cats Connect
Strong relationships are one of the most powerful predictors of happiness and well-being. 'Cats Connect is a peer-facilitated program designed to foster meaningful connections across campus. Faculty and staff are invited to join small groups of 4–7 participants from outside their usual circles. Groups meet for five one-hour sessions and engage in meaningful conversations and connection. Contact Jennifer Fabrizius if interested in participating.
Eat healthy, the "Med Way"
Human Resources' Faculty and Staff Well-being, in collaboration with K-State Extension, invites university employees to attend Mediterranean-inspired cooking demonstrations. This event will be held once a month from September to February. The December session has been moved to 12/5.
The "Med Way" features whole-grain, heart-smart recipes for all cooking levels. Each session includes a tasting opportunity so that attendees can experience the flavors firsthand.
Please register to attend upcoming sessions. If you can't join us in person, watch live on Zoom. Zoom recordings will also be made available.
