Awards, Scholarships, Grants, and Fellowships

Through the generous support of alumni, faculty, and friends of geography, the Department of Geography and Geospatial Sciences annually recognizes outstanding undergraduate and graduate student achievements through awards, scholarships, research grants, and research fellowships.  Alumni and friends interested in supporting these awards can do so through accounts maintained by the KSU Foundation through our Giving to Geography page.

Procedures vary depending on whether you are applying for scholarships, grants, or fellowships.  Students should apply for department scholarships by completing the K-State Scholarship Network (KSN) General Application.  Although the closing date for applications is officially May 31, 2022 for the 2022-2023 academic year, the department will award scholarships in late April 2022. All department scholarship applications should be completed no later than April 1, 2022.

Application instructions, forms, and submission deadlines for department research grants and fellowships can be foudn on our Forms page.

Awards require no formal application and, instead, are based on faculty nominations or students meeting certain academic performance criteria.
