General Education Council and General Education Advisory Board Members

K-State General Education Council

The K-State General Education Council is comprised of the Associate Deans for Academic Affairs of each academic college, or their designee. This council will address the implementation of the K-State Core and any other general education needs of the university. They will provide the Faculty Senate Academic Affairs Committee recommendations for new courses and disciplinary areas in the K-State Core, based on the reviews and recommendations of the faculty in the General Education Disciplinary Advisory Board.

General Education Disciplinary Advisory Board

The General Education Disciplinary Advisory Board is comprised of three faculty whose work falls within the disciplines listed in the KBOR General Education Framework. Two faculty will be from the disciplines within the general areas and one faculty will have disciplinary expertise and experience, but from a discipline not listed in these areas.

These faculty will review proposals for additional courses and disciplines within the KBOR General Education Framework. They will make their recommendations to the General Education Council. Each faculty member will serve for three years on the advisory board. However, this first cohort will serve staggered appointments as indicated below.
