Satellite-enabled Resilient Ag Project

SatRAP in the Southern Great Plains

The USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) Sustainable Ag Systems (SAS) Satellite-enabled Resilient Ag Project for the Southern Great Plains is housed within the Kansas Water Institute. This project features partnerships among multiple institutions across the country (including co-lead institutions Oklahoma State University and Texas Tech University) to support agricultural systems reliant on the High Plains Aquifer in adapting to climate change and enhancing their resilience. The program is focused within the southern Great Plains Region, and will work to develop best-management practices and socio-economic support systems to enable a successful transition from irrigated farm systems to economically sustainable and climate-smart production systems.
