Scholarships and Awards
Scholarships, fellowships, travel grants, and academic awards can help students fund their education, conduct research, attend field experiences and professional meetings, and receive recognition for outstanding work. Opportunities vary by degree program, class level, academic achievement, financial need, research interest, and other criteria.
Program and School opportunities
- Geology students have access to dozens of donor-supported scholarship, fellowship and travel funds for undergraduate and graduate students. Awards may support tuition, field camp, field research, professional travel and other educational expenses.
- Geography students can be considered for undergraduate and graduate scholarships through the K-State Scholarship Network and may also compete for department research grants and fellowships.
- Students may also be recognized for academic achievement, leadership, teaching, service and excellence within their discipline.
- Environmental Science students should use the K-State Scholarship Network and work with their advisor to identify university, college, affiliated-department and professional-organization opportunities that match their academic interests.
- Additional scholarships and awards may be available through professional organizations in geology, geography, GIS, conservation and environmental science.
How to find opportunities
Start with the K-State Scholarship Network and watch for program-specific announcements throughout the academic year. Because eligibility and application processes vary, students should review current criteria carefully and ask an advisor about opportunities connected to research, travel, field experiences, or professional development.
