Mission Statement
The mission of the Climate Resilient Sustainable Intensification Innovation Lab (CRSIIL) is “to innovate and find evidence-based, practical, accessible, and scalable solutions to address food, climate, and soil security.” CRSIIL is committed to addressing the interconnected issues of food, nutrition, climate, and soil security, focusing on solutions with direct applicability in local and regional contexts.
Goal
CRSIIL's primary goal is “to empower people and institutions with knowledge and innovations that positively impact agricultural productivity, the environment, and natural resources.” By fostering partnerships and advancing technologies, CRSIIL seeks to improve the resilience and productivity of agricultural systems globally.
Objectives
To achieve its mission and goals, CRSIIL has outlined several key objectives:
- Maximize System Benefits: Develop technologies and approaches that optimize agricultural and social outcomes, while minimizing trade-offs.
- Increase Climate Resilience: Generate evidence-based solutions to enhance climate resilience for farmers and farming systems through both adaptation and mitigation strategies.
- Deliver Practical Information: Identify pathways to deliver accessible, profitable, and scalable crop, soil, water, and climate information to stakeholders.
- Develop Digital Tools: Evaluate and advance digital and decision-making tools, enabling suitability assessments and open databases for knowledge-sharing.
- Build Capacity: Strengthen institutional, social, and human capacities by supporting local research, educational, and outreach organizations.
