Co-branding

Collaborative partnerships — both across our own university community and with external entities — are a defining strength of Kansas State University. Co-branding enables us to celebrate these relationships while maintaining a clear and consistent visual identity. When executed thoughtfully, it reinforces trust, amplifies shared impact, and reflects the integrity of both partners. Ensuring that all co-branded materials adhere to established brand standards helps maintain clarity and recognition for everyone involved.

For more information about co-branding or to request a mark for an external partnership, please contact the Division of Communications and Marketing.

Internal co-branding

When multiple K-State entities, such as colleges, departments or offices, collaborate on an event, initiative or communication, a single logo should represent the effort. This maintains a unified brand presence and prevents visual clutter. Partnering units should identify the mark that best reflects their shared effort and use it consistently across materials to reinforce clarity and credibility.

Example:
If multiple colleges are sponsoring an initiative, use the primary university wordmark.

External co-branding

Co-branded logos are reserved for high-level strategic partnerships that create meaningful value for the university as a whole. They are approved only when a formal agreement, such as a memorandum of understanding or contract, is in place. All co-branded logos must use the primary Kansas State University wordmark; individual unit signatures are not eligible for co-branding. To ensure alignment with brand standards, all co-branded marks must receive prior approval before being shared or promised to any external partner.
